Mastitis Detection Made Easy
Installation Guide
How Does It Work?
QuadSense is made up of four patented milk sensors that are inserted into the four liners of the milking cups. These are connected to the control unit, which contains the ‘brains’ of QuadSense, replaceable batteries, a button for acknowledging alerts, and a 360-degree alert light.
Accurate
By measuring and comparing milk from each quarter of the udder, QuadSense can achieve greater accuracy than other in-line mastitis detectors.
Automatic
QuadSense starts measuring milk as soon as you put the cups on, then gives a result after just a minute.
Easy
It can be installed yourself into any milking cup liner and gives a red-light alert when mastitis is present. No extra training, time, or new processes are needed.
QuadSense Installation
1.
Cut all four liners to the same length by placing the base of the provided cutting tool at the base of the liner and measue 7.5cm up, as marked on the cutting tool. Make the cut at this point.
2.
Place the sensor array junction under the air line and bring the front two sensors to the front two cut liners – the sensors should be underneath the liners and short air tubes. Insert the bottom half of the sensors into the bottom half of the liner with the arrow on sensor pointing down to the claw.
3.
Insert the two rear sensors into the remaining rear liners with the arrow on the sensors pointing to the claw.
4.
Press the top half of the liner with the cup attached to the four sensors.
5.
Connect the sensor array into the control unit and finger tighten.
6.
Run the sensor cable up the airline to determine the height of the control unit.
7.
Once the height is determined, attach the control unit to the air line with the provided straps.
