Mastitis Detection Made Easy

About Us

About us

Bovonic

Bovonic was founded in early 2021 by Liam Kampshof to develop practical, innovative solutions to transform how farmers take control of disease in their cows. In true number 8 wire spirit, Liam developed the first versions of Bovonic’s mastitis detector in the garage from basic components found at hardware and electrical stores.

Liam took his basic prototype to Fieldays in 2021, and more than 100 farmers signed up their interest in the innovation. This pushed Liam to raise investment, grow the team, and commercialise the idea.

Bovonic is led by a board with deep experience in the dairy industry and agri-tech startups.

Bovonic prides itself on keeping farmers at the centre of our design and development process. We believe the success of our technology is intrinsically linked to the real-world experiences and needs of the farmers we serve. To achieve this, we maintain an open line of communication with our farming community, actively seeking their insights, concerns, and suggestions.

Liam Kampshof

CEO and Founder

From a farm in the Bay of Plenty, Liam took an interest in innovative technology early on and studied biomedical engineering at the University of Auckland. He then headed to London where he developed medical diagnosis devices for diseases like septicemia and cancer. Once he came home to New Zealand, he decided to merge his background in dairy farming with his experience in disease detection to form Bovonic.
